Versatile Psalmist 7.0

Updated: Jan 30, 2020

O Lord, take me into your place of safety and shelter

When my life breaks down and is a bit helter skelter,

Search my soul, O Lord, and correct me with Your rod

Guide my footsteps and may my shoes be in You shod.

Rise up, my Lord, and be a mighty shield against my foes

Be a beacon to light my path so that everybody knows,

Let all of us who strive for salvation be in your holy midst

Be everything to us that ever was, ever will be and yet is.

Lord, may my eyes see an end to the evil days that reside

May I be counted worthy to be a part of Your holy bride,

May I follow your laws and with my brethren live in accord

Escaping from Your day of wrath and terrible, swift sword.

Repay to those who shed innocent blood a banquet and feast

Gather the vultures to dine on the kings from west and east,

They greedily sacrifice the little children in the fire of abortion

Throw them into a shaft that leads to hell; this is their portion.

I will give thanks to the Lord; You are worthy of my praise

May this psalm be a reminder of justice and mercy, always,

I am but a simple pen who still writes with a quill and ink

Your words change lives, hearts and the way that we think.

Author’s notes: This poem was inspired by Psalm 7 and I dedicate it to the Lion of Judah who will someday return from heaven to live among us…amen!
