The Penitent Petition

O Lord, deliver me from the folly of my own sin

Cast it into the Abyss, never to be seen again,

O Lord, my enemies make plans for my demise

Rescue me and let all the evildoers then realize.

That You see into the depths of a sinners heart

To see if there is contrition to make a new start,

I wear sackcloth and confess that I have wasted

Time and resources and too often have I tasted.

The bitter taste of my salty tears on my tongue

So much folly did I sow in my soul when young,

I imagine that there is a throng of the violent

Desiring to see me bleed until I am all spent.

Please deliver me, O Lord of the heavens and seas

I will with diligence follow Your laws and decrees,

I desire a godly Goshen and place to faithfully serve

To work with my hands in a garden that all observe.

To praise You in my spirit all throughout my many days

To be Your child and a jewel in Your kingdom always,

Shall be my penned petition and to You I humbly bow

I pray this in the name of Jesus and hope you will allow.

Your perfect will to be done in my life as it is in heaven

May I be transformed from the six into Your holy seven,

Such are the thoughts of this man on the day You made

I shall live by faith, walk in love and will not be dismayed!
