Versatile Psalmist 116.0

On Bended Knee

I will praise the Lord for the times that He heard my cries

I was broken, defeated and there were tears in my eyes,

I will praise the Lord for the times that I forgave another

Even if we are not reconciled, I still pray for my brother.

I will praise the Lord for teaching me humility with love

Using experience as a gentle push, not an angry shove,

I will praise the Lord for closing the book on the chapters

Reminiscing about the good within the many ever afters.

I will praise the Lord for not being a genie who says yes

But a shepherd who guides my ways in times of distress,

I will praise the Lord for the lives I have touched with joy

Even after they have sailed away like a vessel from Troy.

I will praise the Lord for allowing me to feel all of this life

With a daughter who says daddy and a lovely, happy wife,

I will praise the Lord for allowing me to hear Him say no

Leading me to safety and then seeing if I will then follow.

I will praise the Lord for the various seasons I have lived

I am thankful that I was not like sandstone to be sieved,

I will praise the Lord that I have learned to let others go

Knowing they have their own freedoms within the flow.

I will praise the Lord for the love of fine music and verse

I have been given many an opportunity to daily rehearse,

The Lord is good and I desire to be in His presence on knee

Confessing His holy name without shame for all of eternity!
