Versatile Psalmist 56.0

Writer's picture: Gary the Poet's PenGary the Poet's Pen

Have mercy on me, O Lord, and let not my enemies succeed

Be ever with me, O Lord, for as a mortal man there is a need,

I will cry out to You whenever I am encompassed on all sides

I desire to be with You in the heavenlies where peace abides.

I study Your word to show myself approved and am Your child

I accept the sacrifice You made so that we could be reconciled,

My hands work the plough, are raised in prayer and in praise

I daily bow before Your glory as the King and Ancient of Days.

There are enemies who try to snare me with their evil devices

May they be a stench in Your nostrils as ugly as rancid spices,

They think to conquer You by the means of their new world order

They have a plan to enslave You, if You dare cross into their border.

Show Yourself as mighty and thus fulfill the words of Revelation

Once and for all, let this be The sign to this wicked generation,

As for me and my house, we will worship You with our lamp of oil

Who will give us eternal rest after a lifetime of sacrifice and toil.
