There Is A Season

There is now a season in which crime seems to pay

In which justice is denied and bribery rules the day,

Do not worry, My little children, the Lord will repay.

It is sometimes difficult to walk the narrow path

Fleeing from great anger and resisting the wrath,

Worry not, little children, your reward is secure.

You till the ground and by your sweat are thus fed

You see the scars from the blood that you have bled,

You will be counted worthy for planting seeds here.

Delight yourself in the ways of the Lord which are true

He looks down with His love on the errands you do,

You will be a beacon in His kingdom and have rest.

The rattling of the sabers that you read about is a part

The wicked will pierce their own souls and their heart,

Their carcasses shall feed the vultures in a great feast.

Be meek and seek above all things to be makers of peace

Do not be proud and give alms to the widows, at least,

Be confident that your Lord God knoweth all and seeth.

So gather ye rosebuds while ye may, while there is light

Renew your strength in His love and in His Holy might,

Do you hear the new song of salvation, how great a joy?

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty, look now above

Coming down from heaven is the Son, in victory and love!
